The philosophy of MAGPIE TIME is to:

Teach arts and crafts to children in an accessible and entertaining manner. Because we believe in the paramount importance of art in the lives of children, we want to provide children and parents with engaging, simple, step-by-step instruction on how to carry out a wide variety of art projects.

Nourish a child’s creativity and imagination. While we engage the child in a variety of crafts, our ultimate goal is to bolster their confidence to go out and make their own art and experiment with the endless possibilities of their minds.

Design a “green experience”. We advocate reusing materials found in the house and everyday life: plastic bottles, paper coffee cups and tops, paper towel/toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes etc. Making art does not have to be expensive or wasteful.

Supplement and support the key stages of a child’s intellectual development through the process of making art.

Show children how the fundamentals they have learned are used by accomplished artists throughout their career. We do this by visiting the studios of acclaimed artists and hear from them how their early exposure to arts and crafts shaped their creative lives.
